Energy Attracts Like Energy

Everything is energy. It’s all around us. It is inside of us, and it’s powerful. Understanding the influence of our own energy vibrations can make a significant change in the way you are experiencing life.

Albert Einstein said, “Everything is energy, and that’s all there is to it.  Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy, this is physics.”

Albert might have taken to a chalkboard and formulas to explain how this works, but I prefer to show you through telling a little story about my good friend John.

John is one of the most gregarious, energetic, and magnetic humans I know. It’s impossible for John to sneak into a room, because his energy lights it right up. If I had to use one word to describe him it would be fun. He will introduce himself as Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman, tell you the phone is for you and pass you a banana, cruises into Greek Islands for lunch as the staff hails “Yanni! Yanni!”, and has followed his passion to start a business in gaming.

You know when you attend an event, wedding or conference and learn that there is assigned seating? Plenty of people get bummed out when they realize they can’t sit with their besties. Not John. He sees this as an opportunity; his chance to make his table, THE table of the event.  Right from the start he brings an intention of connection, inclusion and fun to the group. It doesn’t matter if the seats are filled with a bunch of Debbie Downers, John’s fun frequency is dialed up to 11, and those at the table can’t help but meet him up there. John brings them all together, and he is truly magnetic.

When we are responsible for our own energy we can not be swayed by others' energy. On the other side of fun, there are conversations filled with hate, frustration, apathy and anger. If you are not protective of your own energy, you can pick up that energy, and then attract more of it your way throughout the day. Think about how quickly a bad morning can snowball into a horrific day.

The important lesson we learn from John, is that he looks inside himself, to get the fun. This is how he cannot be swayed by the energy of a Debbie Downer, because he knows the power was not with them, but with him. He is responsible for his own energy. Debbie can’t steal John's joy, simply because he doesn’t let her.

Being conscious of your own energy, and using it to get what you want can set the course for all the days of your life. There are two steps to the simple process for attracting the energy you want in your life.

Step #1: Ask yourself  “What do I want to attract today?

Love?
Excitement?
Creativity?
Opportunities?
Open Mindedness?

Step #2: Become the energy that which you want to attract.

BE love.
BE excited.
BE creative.
BE opportunistic.
BE open minded.

Another way to visualize these two steps in action is to recall the great line from Field of Dreams, “If you build it, they will come.” Ray had so much faith in the future and what he longed for inside his heart, that he did what seemed scary and silly in the present. And it worked. He made his dreams come true with his will, faith and energy.

Energy attracts like energy, “that’s all there is to it.”
